Shopping Message from the Vaad

We are all doing our best to help our community stay safe. As painful as it was and is, the closure of the shuls and schools was a necessary step to help slow down the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

It is remarkable how unified the community has been during this crisis. From the joint day of Tehillim to this week’s Haggada Highlights shiur, we have come together.

We are grateful to all of the leaders of our community. The lay leadership of each of the schools and shuls, the teachers and administrators of our schools, the leaders of the many chessed committees, the medical professionals, and each member of our community has given of themselves to help wherever needed.

There is no cure for this deadly pandemic disease, but we understand how it spreads and therefore how to stop its spread. Therefore, each and every individual in our community, as difficult as it is, must redouble and enhance their meticulous observance of social distancing. At this point, the only thing we can do is to stem the devastation of this pandemic.

We have each expended immense psychological, emotional, spiritual and even physical effort to keep our community as safe as humanly possible. Now is the time to redouble our efforts and adhere strictly to the community guidelines and recommendations that have been promulgated under the guidance of the Rabbonim of the entire community.

Changes were made to the way the local restaurants operate due to the realities of this situation. We thank each of the restaurants for their cooperation in making sure they conduct themselves with our health and safety in mind.

The next two weeks will be very busy at our local Kosher Supermarket, Glatt 27

Please follow these guidelines carefully

  1. Glatt 27 will be monitoring the number of customers in the store, and at times, asking customers to wait outside. If you are asked to wait outside, please be understanding and remain patient. This is being done for our safety. Customers waiting outside should stand six feet apart from each other.

  2. No children under the age of 16 should be in the store.

  3. Only one customer per family in the store at a time.

  4. All customers must use a mask and glove at all times the store. If you own a pair, please bring it. If not, there will be gloves and masks  available by the entrance of the store.

  5. Customers should limit their time in the store.

  6. Customers should not engage in unnecessary conversation.

We understand that this causes an inconvenience during a time which is very busy and hectic for all of us.

Our health and safety come first.

We continue to pray for the welfare of the entire community, the entire Klal Yisrael, and all of humanity.
