According to the tradition of our congregation, that follows the opinion of Rabbi Ovadia Yoseph, one cannot fulfill their obligation to hear the Megillah over a telephone or Zoom. If you cannot make the Megillah reading at Congregation Etz Ahaim, you should try to hear it at another synagogue or have someone privately read the Megillah to you.

However, if you cannot hear the Megillah live, at least you can fulfill the mitzvah according to other halachic authorities that hold that it's acceptable bedeavad.

We are providing the following information to hear the Megillah over Zoom, but please understand it doesn't in our tradition fulfill the Mitzvah of hearing the Megillah.
