Exodus from Cuba - A Historical and Personal Account

Mr. Israel Maya, former President of the Sephardic Jewish Center of Canarsie, Brooklyn, will be giving a personal account of Jewish life in Cuba before the Revolution and the exodus after the Revolution when Fidel Castro cemented his rule.

The presentation will include the history of Jewish life in Cuba, stories of his family, and the exodus from Cuba. He will show the synagogues, businesses, and schools built by the Jews, and the integration of the Jews in Cuban society. 

He will also cover the events of the St. Louis and the story of the Altalena and Jews going to Israel in 1948.
