Directions to Etz Ahaim

From the Garden State Parkway or Route 1 (coming from the North)
Take Garden State Parkway South to exit 130 (Route 1 South). Stay on Route 1 for about 6 miles till you see signs for Highland Park, and exit by the sign that says Highland Park (Route 514 West).  You are now on Woodbridge Avenue. Stay on Woodbridge Avenue and after a few traffic lights it will end. There will be a traffic light where five streets come together. Continue left in the direction closest to straight and you will be on Raritan Avenue (Route 27 South).  Stay on Raritan Avenue till you come to North Third Avenue and make a right onto it. Make the first left onto Denison Street. The synagogue is on Denison Street, between North 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

From the New Jersey Turnpike
Coming from N.J. Turnpike South take exit 9. After the exit, take Route 18 North past the Route 1interchange. After about a mile you will see a sign for Highland Park and Route 27 North.  Take Route 27 North over the Raritan River and stay in the right lane. Stay on Route 27 (Raritan Avenue) and make a left turn onto North 2nd Avenue. Then, make the first right onto Denison Street and the synagogue will be on your right.

Coming from N.J. Turnpike North
Take exit 9 and follow the directions above, or take exit 10. From exit 10, take the 514 West / Highland Park exit, and get on 514 West. You will be on Woodbridge Avenue. Stay on Woodbridge Avenue and after four miles it will end. There will be a traffic signal where five streets come together. Continue left in the direction closest to straight and you will be on Raritan Avenue (Route 27 South).  Stay on Raritan Avenue till you come to North Third Avenue and make a right onto it. Make the first left onto Denison Street. The synagogue is on Denison Street, between North 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

From Route 287 South (coming from the West)
From Route 287 South take exit 9 (indicated as Highland Park exit). From the ramp make a right onto River Road, heading toward Highland Park. Stay on River Road about 5 miles till it ends at a traffic light (intersection with Rt. 27, Raritan Avenue).  Make a left onto Raritan Avenue. At the third traffic light make a left turn onto North 2nd Avenue. Then, make the first right onto Denison Street and the synagogue will be on your right.

From Route 440 (coming from Brooklyn/Queens/Long Island)
After crossing the Verrazano Bridge stay on Route 278 (Staten Island Expressway) till you see a sign for Route 440 South (West Shore Expressway). Take Route 440 South till the exit for the Outerbridge Crossing. Cross over the Outerbridge Crossing into New Jersey (you are still on Route 440 South but its name will shortly change to Route 287 North).  Take Route 287 North to the exit for Route 27 South, towards New Brunswick. Stay on Route 27 South for about 5 miles till you come into Highland Park. Make a right onto North 3rd Avenue. Make the first left onto Denison Street. The synagogue is on Denison Street, between North 2nd and 3rd Avenues.
